Hello there!
I don't want to jump to any conclusions but I'd like to humor myself by assuming that you all were missing my posts terribly and were wondering why I stopped writing to you. Well, let me tell you about it. I have a really good excuse, I promise.
About two weeks ago, I was in the middle of blogging to you all about how Christmas at the Powell household was going. And let me preface this by telling you that I'm no CSS/website creating/widget using gal. I dropped out of computer programming class on the first day and I've had no desire to learn a thing about it since. So, Google and I have become the best of friends since I've started blogging because designing and editing a blog is the farthest you can get from the simple edits of Microsoft Word. And this probably was the primary reason for the original Sports and Sweets being completely deleted by Google because of some sort of spam they say I put on there. And when I say completely deleted, I mean gone from the history of the world wide web. I know some of you may be trying to talk to me through your computer telling me that I can restore deleted blogs....I've tried. It's gone. I really haven't the slightest clue what I could have done to cause such havoc with Google but I was utterly disappointed to say the absolute least. Because of my lack of blogging skills, it literally took me hours and hours and hours to get the page up and running, posts written and to make it all look pretty. I was in the middle of trying to figure out how to use my own fonts and poof, it's gone. And then my notorious and pitiful fit started and I promised myself that I would never waste my time blogging again.
Right? Wrong.
I'm back. And Sports and Sweets has been restored. After realizing that my enjoyment and sense of accomplishment from blogging wasn't snatched away like Google had taken away the original SandS, I was ready to start again. And the result is part two.
And I should tell you thank you. Even though I have no idea if anyone is really reading what I say or has the slightest bit of interest in what I think is worth sharing with you all, it's because of you that I wanted to come back. It's not perfect by any means, but I live a pretty good life. One that I like to admit that I'm proud of. I've been blessed beyond measure. But with the highs come the lows and with the great times comes the defining times. And with each step comes some sort of valuable lesson and story. It's my hope that you continue to visit so that I can share with each of you those lessons that elevate me, challenge me, teach me and make me, in hopes that you, too, can love this perfectly created chaos we call life.
And I leave you with some lovely words from a lovely woman, Jacqueline Kennedy.
"The good, the bad, hardship, the joy, the tragedy, love, and happiness are all interwoven into one single, indescribable whole that is called life. You cannot separate the good from the bad. And perhaps there is no need to do so, either."
Cheers to you and Sports and Sweets Part II!
